That time we told a homeowner: “Honestly, solar is not worth it for you.”

A homeowner living in a suburban area in New York State contacted Powerlutions about installing solar panels on their house. Although it was a beautiful area with many trees around we recommended they should not do solar unless they cut down several trees. Trees are as “green” as you can get, but the solar panels need to have good sun exposure in order to get the proper amount of solar production. The customer agreed with our assessment and chose not to cut down their beloved trees. Powerlutions has plenty of customers that we assist in having trees trimmed, or removed, but it always comes down to what the customer wants. In the end, this customer referred Powerlutions to a commercial entity that hired us to install solar panels on an office building. Being honest pays dividends.
